Inspiring! Students Make Mats with Plastic Bags for the Homeless

According to Earth Policy Institute, every day almost eight billion plastic bags circulate in the world; the majority is used only once and then it is discarded. This is a serious contamination problem.

Seeing this situation, the students of Hatboro-Horsham High School in Pennsylvania, devised ways to recycle them and at the same time contribute for a noble cause.

They made mats for homeless people

Thousands of people donated the disposable bags and the students who volunteered made the mats with their own hands.

The boys gave the mats to the people who were sleeping in the streets and now they have a comfortable, hygienic and waterproof mattress which they can fall asleep.

It took 700 bags to make each mat
